Around Shanghai: Australian hostages, Disneyland and SMS for porn

• The 10 Australian survivors of the Xi'an hostage incident have left China from the Pudong International Airport yesterday. Unconfirmed reports say one member of the group has already employed the services of a celebrity agent to sell her story.
• The controversial extension of the maglev line will not happen this year, Mayor Han Zheng tells reporters on the sidelines of the National People's Congress.
• After the long-standing ding-donging of the Disneyland project, it has also been confirmed by the mayor that Shanghai has applied to the central government for such a park (although approval has not been given yet by the National Development and Reform Commission). Shanghai's Disneyland would be 4.7 times the size of Hong Kong's.
• Police have nabbed a man for running a website that conned netizens into paying money to him by SMS for porn movies. The porn never came to the customers and over 500 people were duped. The man made a grand total of over 1,000 yuan from the one-week old website.
• Shanghai is set to have citywide wireless broadband network by 2010, and will be the first city in the Chinese mainland to do so. Yippee!
