I personally happen to dig this shit. Don't decide for the rest of us what we should or should not read. The Edison Chen thing was not Shanghai-specific but looks like everyone lapped it up anyhow. Blogs are traffic whores. If you don't like something, skip it. Simple as that.

Dear god please stop with the Bai Ling news. She doesn't live in Shanghai. She's from Chengdu. She has zero relationship to the city - only sharing an ethinicity in common with this city's residents. If you were going to report on a Chinese residing in the United States, how about Yao Ming (at least he's Shanghainese)? Actually I don't care. Just no more Bai Ling please!
