Actually its been up for over a month and a half, the geek squad graphics and the Magnolia Hi Fi graphics and signage inside as I started seeing it before the snow. Cannot wait for it to open as it makes many things more convenient though what it will really do is improve customer service levesl as all the other stores around. :)

I've paid couple visits to best buy in xujiahui, the good part comparing to conventional IT mall is that you can playing with those gadgets without being disturbed. While I didn't found what's special about their "Geek Squad". Any undergraduate students can beat them in terms of trouble-shooting.

I've never actually been. But if they were to open an Outback Steakhouse (or Chili's . . .or Chevy's) I'd probably go. Sure, it's not GREAT food, but it's very decent food. And you know what to expect.

The outback steakhouse(s) in Beijing are pretty much cookie-cutter right from the US.

It's already here. Applebee's. Best Buy.

But you know what, American corporate crapola is far superior to Chinese crapola. Best Buy vs. GOME? It's not like big box stores are stamping out mom and pop community stores here.

There is an Applebee's at Xujiahui, although I think LJS is probably unlikely. Also, I think China is doing just fine on its own in terms of putting up malls.

Yay!! More corporate crapola comes to China!! Whoohoo! Now this is progress. When do we get Applebee's and Long John Silver cause the food in the local restaurants here really sucks, besides being soooo expensive. Why do you want the suburban mall to become the new China?
