On the left there is Matrix, who along with Futurebound rocked the hell out of Club Bonbon with some crazy drum and bass on Friday. More pictures, including a review of the “Punk from Xi’an” show at the Live Bar, after the jump.
Futurebound on the decks
So, that was Friday night. On Saturday Shanghaiist indulged in the local live music scene, which was overflowing this weekend as described here earlier. Instead of Yuyintang, we ended up at the Live Bar. The best compliment we can give this place is that, immediately upon walking in, we felt like we were back in Austin‘s Red River District. If you’ve ever been to the Flamingo Cantina or Room 710, you’ll know what we’re talking about. Everything was familiar: the stage, the music, the venue, the crowd, and the beer — okay, maybe not the beer.
Although the crowd was packed pretty tightly at around 10 PM, by midnight most people had filtered out, either to talk on the street or to leave altogether. Despite that, the music was a great mix of punk, rock, and pop that had the remaining people dancing and moving all night.
