Quote of the Day: Zhang Qingli 张庆黎

Zhang Qingli 张庆黎
"The Communist Party is like the parent to the Tibetan people,
and it is always considerate about what the children need.
The Central Party Committee is the real Buddha for Tibetans."

- Zhang Qingli 张庆黎, Member of the 17th CPC Central Committee,
Secretary of the CPC Tibet Autonomous Regional Committee -

Thanks for posting that. Read it in the NY Times and of everything outrageous I've heard coming out of the government and its media mouthpieces, this really takes the cake.

it's good that we know that many parents should be in prison for child abuse.
i wonder how deeply he really believes this?
should we consider now that Buddha has reencarnated as the Central Party Comittee?
and if so, then are all government organizations some kind of reencarnated Buddha???
I wonder also how many people they have guided to the light? and how?
this sentence goes to run against any of the top 5 of Bush.
this is so horrible!

While it is true that a lot of destruction of property is going on, I do find it intriguing that the handpicked Panchen Lama is condemning the situation as critical without urging the government to take a less heavy-handed approach approach.

Here is what he reportedly (Xinhua) expressed: The 11th Panchen Lama condemns the Lhasa riot and says sabotage acts are against the tenets of Buddhism. No mention of the suffering of his people. Nice.

Compare this to the Dalai Lama, who has urged the Tibetens to not be violent while urging the Chinese government to act with restraint, a position that expresses the same disdain for violence while containing a bit of compassion.

Now who loves his people more?

Shanghaiist loves running Communist propaganda ;-)

Shoot him in the face with a bazooka.

"Quote of the day" is my new favorite posting. Atta boy Kenneth.

"The parent?"

The English teacher in me can't help wonder about this miracle of parthenogenesis. There's only one parent? Freaky!

Or is it more like a single-parent household? And did mama or baba leave? What gives, Zhang? Immaculate Buddhist Conception? Cloning?

But other than that little nitpick, it's a totally great metaphor.

Here's another metaphor or sorts. I think the Panchen Lama might actually be a reincarnation of Puyi, Emperor of Manchukuo. Remember that guy, China?

Note that my message should have said "criminal" and not "critical".

Can someone please place the original quote in Chinese.

Central Party Committee = real Tibetan Buddha. Got it. It's so clear and simple to now. Thanks, dad.

Jesus fucking Christ, what a thing to say. Got the original quote in Chinese?

Here's the original Chinese quote:
"党像西藏人民的父母.党中央是藏人真正的菩萨"

It literally translates as
"The Party is like the father and mother of the Tibetans. The CPC is the True Buddha of the Tibetans."

what are the odds this guy will get the axe for the shit that went down?

astonishing

天大地大不如黨的恩情大,
爹親娘親不如毛主席親,
千好萬好不如社會主義好,
河深海深不如階級友愛深。

Right, guys?

Inspirational.

Kenneth Tan,

It's a great satire, thumbs-up ☆☆☆

This guy looks like a clown...

Georgey Porgey,
Pudding and pie,
Turned his back on the Tibetans and let them die...

And that goes for wet noodle Brussesl, beer sucking London and passed-out-drunk Oz as well.

Perhaps the first real sign of the The End of Times is that all of mankind's institutions built to promote and protect the preciousness of human life have simultaneously failed. The UN, the IOC, DC, Brussels, the US media as a whole, etc

The NBA is doing great, though!
