Time to PAUSE this Sunday

It's been a while, but this Sunday will see a welcome return for the PAUSE collective, who will be bringing their heady mix of independent art, music, and creative stalls to everyone's favourite ex-Blue Ice hang out, The Shelter. Kicking off at 4pm down on Yong Fu Lu, there will be a bunch of inventive things to get excited about, featuring contributors from across the globe and, of course, the cream of Shanghai's arts scene.

Our fair city doesn't always get the credit it deserves for its independent creative scene, but this latest event from PAUSE (that’s Phreaktion, Antidote, Uprooted Sunshine, and :e:klek.tik, fact fans) will showcase a whole range of multi-media installations and performances as well arts stalls from a host of local designers. Those selling their wares will include a number of Shanghaiist favourites such as t-shirtists eno, purveyors of fine toys and tees My Xanadu, The Shelter, and PAUSE themselves — to mention just a few.

Proceedings will be sound-tracked by live music spanning a wide array of genres — hip-hop, funk, techno, drum and bass, and reggae, amongst others — and, as if that wasn't enough for you, wandering around amongst all of this will be stilt walkers and performance artists. What's more, entry to the whole shebang won’t cost you a single jiao — well worth getting out of bed on a Sunday afternoon for we say.
