hmmm, Maglev operates 0645-2130 daily, that covers a good chunk of time of most flights.

Hongqiao taxi lines indeed are a PITA but whats that got to do with PVG?

And the new terminal DOES have bookstore and ...well, at least beter food than before.

All these new airport terminals won't mean a damn thing unless they can fix the stupid opening hours of the Maglev, fix the stupid cab lines at Hongqiao and provide some decent food, bookstore and wifi options at the airport.

Wang Jianshuo has a long, photo-filled review of the new Shanghai terminal:

I still find it amazing that with the amount of flights these days criss-crossing our great Motherland that not more planes fall out of the skies - or do we not hear about this?

So T2 at Pudong has both domestic and int'l flights? Where can we find a list of the airlines that will service each? I think in the long run PVG should try to make T1 all int'l and T2 domestic to reduce passenger confusion.

Also in the last link, it claims "make the three direct flights across the Taiwan Straits more convenient". Uhh...what three direct flights? I was unaware that the PRC and ROC had ended the long standing status quo of not having any scheduled direct flights. Hopefully with a thaw in relations that will soon change.

I quite happy to see this airport infrastructure boom. It will do this country a world of good.
