yeah i hate it when Shanghaiist fails to live up to its journalistic mission, shooting itself in the foot with posts like this and letting the Guardian, El Mundo, Le Monde, the New York Times and the Washington Post get ahead in the game.

yeah its only "some prick" if the show cancelled is one I like. :P But seriously thats sad. Nonetheless, it s the whole permitting system and such that needs an overhaul so while one may consider a snitch in this case a "prick" another may consider him a law-abiding citizen. Sad huh? Lucky Shanghaiist tells it like it is and is not limited to being truly journalistic in its reports.

Not saying this is a good thing but Bjork-fallout my ass - every venue in Shanghai that does not have a performance license and has had live performances has gone through this or something similar.
