Looks like serious fallout from the Bjork incident might have finally hit, and if this is a preview of things to come then the underground scene in Shanghai is going to become a grim place.
Late last night we got word that (some prick) called the government to report Dandi Wind was performing Friday night at Shelter and neither the Shelter nor Dandi Wind has a performance license. Some men in uniform showed up at Shelter and told them that the show wasn’t going to happen. Organizers are scrambling to find an alternative venue or beg the powers above into letting them go ahead with the show (unlikely without cash or serious connections). We will keep you updated on where the show ends up and Shanghaiist hopes that all of you (no matter what your musical preferences) get a chance to check out her wicked live set. Ironically Shanghai has been the only city to show much interest in cracking down on bands. Even Beijing is easier on promoters and musicians.
