Pacific Epoch tries to explain:
Baidu has chosen US presidential candidate Barack Obama as the sixth face to grace its homepage logo. Following more general features including Hong Kong entertainers and snow storm survivors, Obama comes as Baidu's first foreign installment. In the drawing, a smiling Obama is joined by a dapper donkey as he throws a "net" over the Chinese portion of Baidu's logo.
Why, yes. That donkey sure is ... dapper? Anyway, if you click on the logo, it takes you to renwu.baidu.com, which currently has more info in Chinese than you'd ever care to read about the man who should be the Democratic nominee for president by now.

Everyone seems hooked on the snake-oil of hope these days. Well, at least Obama is hawking a fairly original bag of hot air, but I see it, he can only disappoint in the Whitehouse when he delivers far less than his laughably lofty rhetoric suggests. Meanwhile, electing Billary the ice-queen smacks of something decidedly undemocratic, with four consecutive presidencies held between two families. And McCain is isn't even on the ballot as far as I am concerned.
Well, this will be good to enhance the Chinese people's awareness of Obama and his rabid, anti-China, anti-free trade stances.
Oh, wait...
Maybe the "dapper" donkey is meant to be Hillary?
