Anti-CNN website hacked

anti-CNN.com hackedAnti-CNN.com, a website set up to protest the Western media's "distortion" of recent events in Tibet, has been hacked according to The Dark Visitor. There's a clue in the name as to what anti-CNN.com is all about but, in case you haven't heard of it, here's how they define themselves:

This website is estabished to expose the lies and distortions in the western media. The site is maintained by volunteers, who are not associated with any government officials.
We are not against the western media, but against the lies and fabricated stories in the media.
We are not against the western people, but against the prejudice from the western society.
Since its founding a few weeks ago, the website has received a huge number of hits and has been featured in China Daily (under the headline "CNN: What's wrong with you?"). The reasons for the hacking remain unclear but those behind the website (reportedly university students) have apparently enlisted the help of Sohu to help them track down those responsible.

In the interests of balanced journalism (and fearful of someone starting an anti-Shanghaiist.com), we should point out that there is also an anti-Xinhua.com website, which as far as we know has not yet been hacked.

wow, i can see this escalating into a propaganda hack battle... things could get really surreal.

The site itself is redundant. For people who follow media criticism, CNN's use of 'embedded' reporters in Iraq was the final coffin-nail in their reputation.

That is, if you believe they were in any way 'impartial' in the first place.

No need to hack a website like anti-Xinhua.com. There's no information content at all.

Yeah, anti-xinhua doesn't have any content, but if they tried even a little, they could fill volumes.

Even so, it's a pity that they refer to the 1.4 billion people of China as a single united block. Sure, mind control is astoundingly pervasive and effective in Chinese society, but there are many who disagree and must remain quiet.

I think that anti-CNN site is based in the US, and I'll bet the hacker is too. So what is Sohu gonna do about it?

The great unraveling is proceeding smoothly.

A rather simple whois query of Anti-CNN.com shows that the domain is registered to a Jim Rao of Beijing's Tsinghua University. His email, number, and fax is there for all to see.

"I think that anti-CNN site is based in the US, and I'll bet the hacker is too. So what is Sohu gonna do about it?

what a ill-informed misearable piece of a s s!

As a Chinese,though my English is nit good,but I have to say that the medias in western countries such as CNN and so on,are always lies their audiences,Tibet is a part of China,that is no need to doubt it.
And,do not say anything before you make a deep search on what you want to say.

Hi!

I think this text is interesting for "all sides":
Link: Anti-CNN says: "We Just Want the Truth!"

Please, take time to read it and don't look to the pictures only!    :-)

Anti-CNN manipulates and fakes "evidences"!!!
You don't believe? Read and see by yourself:

Please read it and don't look only for some picures!

this is exactly what i hate, you do u have to put the word distortion in quotation marks, as if the posts on anti-cnn are not true, as if anti-cnn doesn't have a fucking point.

@mylovetina

Allow western media in to sensitive areas, and perhaps you can improve your credibility.

@mylovetina:
