Shanghaiist came across this great website by a resident food stylist the other day, and could not help but stare with our mouths agape at the insanely sleek and sexy pictures of a McDonald's big breakfast. Here's how said stylist Michael Elliott introduces himself on his website:
After graduating with a degree in fine arts in 1998, Michael Elliott studied and worked as both a chef and pastry chef in Europe and North America. This background served to prepare Michael for his work as a food stylist and recipe developer, which he has been working at full time since 2004. Michael has had the opportunity to work for many clients and agencies at a local, national, and international level and in a variety of mediums.
Who better to post pictures of beautiful food and recipes from local restaurants than a professional food stylist and recipe developer! Therefore, Shanghaiist is very happy to introduce Mr. Elliot's food blog "Sour Grapes," by far the best food blog by a food stylist living in Shanghai that we've ever come across (and mayhaps the only one). Seriously though, lots of informative stuff on here, including restaurant reviews, recipes, intros to other types of cuisine, and a generally high caliber of writing. No sour grapes here; Shanghai foodies, check this one out (after your daily dose of Shanghaiist, of course).
