Shanghai Eagles season opener this afternoon

China's professional baseball league started off with a sweep last week as the Tianjin Tigers swept the Guangdong Leopards in three games, 11-1,13-10,and 8-5. Being the league's official opening series the first game was preceded by a red carpet ceremony and boasted of, surprise surprise, cheerleaders.

And while it may not promise cheerleaders, don't forget that Shanghai Eagle's home opener against the Guangdong Leopards is this afternoon at 2:30. Just a 10-minute walk west from the new Line 6 West Gaoke Rd subway station, the game will take place at Pudong's Kangbei sports complex. The series extends over the weekend with games on Saturday (2:30pm) and Sunday (9:30am).

Kangbei Baseball and Softball Stadium (康贝棒垒球场) is located at 20l Yunlian Rd in Pudong (上海市浦东新区云莲路20l号). The nearest subway stop is West Gaoke Rd on Line 6
