Buy your own "I Love Tibet" T-shirt on Taobao
By Benjamin Cohen
"I Love Tibet, but I Hate the Dalai Lama," and "F*** CNN, Say No to Riots!" are two of the nine nationalist t-shirts for sale on Taobao.com (english version).
The shirt's creators state, "Tibet was, is and always will be apart of China!" We're pretty sure they mean "a part" (h/t to Megan Shank). But semantics aside, these shirts show growing nationalist sentiment that first gained ground with MSN messenger displays of support.
And now, for 28rmb, you can take the "love China" message to the streets. Express shipping is available to ensure the shirt arrives before your next Carrefour protest.
See more shirts after the break.

Um, dont you think the Chinese have enough Nationalist sentiment? More than enough? Waaaay to much!!!??? If I see anyone wearing one of these stupid shirts, im going to throw something at them.
@littleme
dont you think the Chinese got enough unfairness before they got pissed and angry?Waaaay toO much!!!??? if you see anyone wearing one of these smart shirts, you'd better stay away in case your ass gets kicked.
Hmmm, let me think about that for second...No! As if the Chinese need anything more to fan thier (and very much your) nationalism. You've probably already ordered one in every style and are waiting in anticipation for them to arrive in the mail. Hopefully I will run into you while you are wearing yours.
The "truth"? What "truth" can a Chinese, living in China, explore at this moment? If you do a YouTube search on "Tibet", your ISP kicks you off of the site for an hour, and logs your IP for "further monitoring". "F*ck CNN", because the Chinese media won't even MENTION their 20 apologies in the last month or so. If these t-shirt sellers truly care about "truth" and how they HEART CHINA MORE THAN EVER (ironic, that "I Heart NY More Than Ever" came about after 9/11), they won't charge 28rmb for these shirts that they got for 5 kuai a piece from child labor in Anhui.
littleme, i find you is a bastard, should you show up, i will kick your fat ass,remember that.
ah the wonders of ann anonymous internet.
Some of us happened to LOVE the Forbidden Kingdom, you JERKS.
Winterfalling, a brave fighter for justice!!!
@dancingruru
very very nice and heartful... but i am wondering if you guys concern China's human rights so much, why do you have to suck on China and import its 'junk' from sweatshops? and why do you foreigners all swarm into XiangYang road crazily for fake staff, why did you sneak into some smelly tiny shops and ask "any DVD?"
yeah, the Chinese media is clumsy... but it has nothing to do with I love China or TIBET... coz I see what happened from CNN...if you can allow attckers in paris and bars over the Eiffel Tower,
why these t-shirts make you mad like this?
@ Crespo
Haha!! Show up where? At one of your pathetic carrefour boycott protests? Oh, dont you worry Crespo, I'll be there. Just make sure you write "Crespo" on the back and front of your lame excuse of a t-shirt so i can rip it off your back and wipe my "fat ass" with it.
WinterFalling - name for me one CHINESE Dynasty that ever conquered Tibet in all of history?
I know the Party tells me the Yuan Dynasty conquered Tibet, but gee, wasn't that the Mongolian Empire? Does that mean Iraq and Poland are part of China, too?
Hey, Winterfresh, ask yourself why you care so much about Tibet being "part of China," but don't say a word about Mongolia which was "part of China" for 300 years BEFORE Tibet.
Brainwashing, anyone?
By the way - I went to the Shanghai French Film Festival yesterday, and Carrefour today...FULL of Chinese people...
I guess the most Chinese people are willing to do is shoot their brainwashed mouthes off online, stick a stupid little heart on their MSNs, and participate in government-sponsored protests, that somehow happen only when CCTV cameras are around.
@littleme
let me explain the Chinese nationalism in my way. if you are a good kid but got raped once, you will be very allergic to any man get close to you with assumption that they are evil, let alone they really harrased you...
so dont just say, "hey look at these stupid Chinese nationalist", bla bla bla
You made us like this when you invaded China in 1840s and 1900s, took HK away, took Macau away, took Shandong, shanghai and many places colony...and it is you burnt YuanMingyuan park and stole our national treasure home and put them into your museum... you nation was nothing but a bounch of drug-sellers, invaders and thieves! and now you dont have shame to remember it...
and now you are pointing figures like your ass is clean as always...and say...oh, nationalism is bad...oh, Chinese media is bad...oh, Tibet should be free,...oh, Taiwan is poor, oh, Chinese children are poor, oh, Chinese products are not quality...
you say that because YOU are a nationalist, you feel ashame when the nation you once invaded is now get stronger, and make your nation inferior...you are a nationalist that try very hard to forget the history so that you can point figures like you are a virgin...
Shameless
"you say that because YOU are a nationalist, you feel ashame when the nation you once invaded is now get stronger, and make your nation inferior...you are a nationalist that try very hard to forget the history so that you can point figures like you are a virgin..."
What nation did "I" once invade? Im pretty sure I would have remembered invading a nation. There was a foggy period in my mid-teens when I was experimenting with some drugs so it's possible I invaded some nations then. I always knew those drugs were a bad idea!
WinterFalling, I don't think anyone's talking about the British Empire, here. That's an interesting topic, but, currently, we are talking about Chinese Imperialism under the Communist Party. Please try to focus, ok?
Believing the Party is right no matter what, without thinking is the result of most Chinese nationalism. Is that right?
The Chinese media is controlled by the Party. Is that right?
Taiwan (also another topic) is definitely not poor.
By the way - after the Qing Empire lost the Opium War that it started by attacking British ships and Hong Kong and Macau were given - weren't they 2 undeveloped bumps of land that barely anyone lived on?
Littleme, you need to understand that to most Chinese people, they are brought up to understand that "we" - the Chinese people - are the greatest nation and race in the world, that is constantly being attacked, ridiculed, and shamed by all the other people of the world. That being the case, people like WinterFalling here think that all people from other countries think of themselves like collectives of worker ants, too.
I just want a teeshirt that sufficiently expresses my hatred.
brought up or history?
"I just want a teeshirt that sufficiently expresses my hatred."
Well, that say it all now, doesnt it. I think i've made my point.....or should I say, you've made it for me.
@Atcoac
you are daydreamer. you don't know what you are talking about. Take some medicine. poor guy
@Alcoac
Yes, I got pissed off everytime my accesst to www.XXXXXXX.com is blocked. I say fuck CPC!!!
but how do you get the conclusion that we believe the media without thinking and then we become nationalists? do the Chinese outside China with almost no mainland experience also get brainwashed by CPC? you are very very funny. Do you know how many hours I spend everyday on CNNC Channel and CNN.com... do you know I have a tool that can access me to the website all over the world? actually most of my friends have this tool and we never visit xinhua.com...
fuck the Chinese media, fuck it all, I say. and I dont give a fuck to their report. I saw our people got attacked from CNN, not xinhua. and I saw Tibet pictures from CNN and later i learnt those pictures are surgeried from some BBS with obvious envidences. So nobody's ass is clean on this. Alcoac, there is nothing to be pround of on your media as well.
and HK and Macau, you are becoming rediculous... Do rich people have the right to take poor people's babies and bring them up? and say, hey, poor people, you have to thank us, we rise your kids with far better education, far better food... and we did that for free!!!
And "after the Qing Empire lost the Opium War that it started by attacking British ships "
...^_^
I dont know who is your history teacher but here learn something from your western libery:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Opium_War
YOur ignorance and histoy-showing-off abilities are something to be remembered...
So you see?
1. I LOVE CHINA has nothing to do with the media because outside Chinese also get pissed off.
2. Your history is bad so stop showing off.
3. You can go to GUIZHOU province and steal some poor kids from their families and bring them up. and see if their parents would thank you or kick you in the nuts.
@callipers
oh yeah, do that pls, dont just say it... you can paint one... and then you go out and feel pround.
@Alcoac
acutally I dont care the history about Tibet. Yes, why do I have to since we already have it?
I said TIBET IS PART OF CHINA!!! and you say, IT SHOULD NOT BE!!!
We are saying the same thing, ain;t we? We are saying, like it or not, it IS and having been part of China for long... so do i have to discuss the history here? Does the history you learnt can change the current status? Do I have to complain that dinosaur should be the boss of the earth? isnt it rediculous when we have international law to tell us which part land goes to whom?
Do I have to discuess this with anyone here about TIBET?
Is winterfalling an american trying to make china look bad?
The things he is saying, and moreover the way he says them, sure reflect poorly on China!
@Alcoac
Yes you go to French Shanghai film festival and then shopping in Carrefour... and see a lot people there and you feel so exicited...
but guess what, i am not against Carrefour, I am against anti-Carrefour because if Carrefour fucked-up, China's investment enviroment could go bad and then it will hurt China's openning up. I will not go shopping on May the 1st because I dont wanna get high-profile. I could go there later...I really really dont wanna Carrefour get fucked by Chinese... by the way, I like those ppl who go shopping in Carrefour these days, they are smart, as WE have nuclear weapons to protect tibet, who cares what a supermarket wanna do with TIBET. who cares how high the french climbed on Effiel, who cares Nancy's date with DALAI LAMA? We dont like that but there are people to take care of that. our soldiery is upinarms!
GO SHOPPING if you want!!!
-------------------------------------------
Second, I am totally happy that you go to the festival, but you brain could be hurt someway...i am pretty sure the name of the festival is Shanghai Int'l film festival, not Shanghai French Film Festival... film makers from all around world are invited to shanghai. It has never been named Shanghai French Film Festival.
Here is the envidence: http://www.siff.com/Articleen/
[[[[[[[Hey, everybody look here!!!]]]]]]]
Alcoac as an individual is faking things up with no shame... on what ground, do you have the qualification to discuss history here? on what ground, do you have the qualification to call us nationalist? on what ground, do you have the qul'tion to finger-point China media? Clean your ass first pls!
the pattern looks pretty trendy !!! I would love to get one !
WinterFalling:
On what ground do you have the qualification to discuss history?
You love China and support the Communist Party this much, you aren't nationalist?
Chinese media? Well, they are controlled by the Communist Party, which only reports things that the Communist Party wants them to report.
My poppa taught me to wipe regularly.
Tibet has only been part of China since 1950-1951 when the Red Army conquered the independent, sovereign nation for the new Communist Empire.
Chinese outside of China?
They are no fans of the Communist Dynasty.
I'll bet you don't like Nancy Pelosi from the USA very much.
Think logically.
Point 1:
Nancy Pelosi is very outspoken against the Communist Dynasty and Tibet, specifically.
Why?
Nancy Pelosi has represented the 8th Congressional District of California - comprised of San Francisco. Nearly 33% of San Francisco is ethnic Chinese and other Asian groups.
Nancy Pelosi has publicly attacked the Communist Dynasty for over 20 years, and the ethnic Chinese keep electing her to office. In fact, the reason she is so vocal about the Communist Dynasty is because she is representing the interests of her constituents - ethnic Chinese people who are extremely opposed to the Communist Dynasty.
Point 2:
The only Chinese people appearing around the world in support of the Olympic Torch are students from Communist China, who somehow are able to show up even when the Torch Route is secretly changed by the Chinese government, carrying expensively produced "Support China / Anti CNN" propaganda.
I have a great idea for a shirt...I heart China, but hate Hu Jin Tao......think that would be a great idea ? Want to make Tibetans hate Chinese even more?...then wear a shirt saying you hate the one person (Dalai Lama) that they universally love
Alcoac- Nancy Pelosi is my Representative in Congress and one of the big reasons she supports the Dali Lama is because the political power in San Francisco's Chinese community rests in the hands of people with Nationalist Party connections. Her concerns are money raising and votes. When the CP took over China many Kuomintang went to Taiwan, where they wiped out many of the locals, and many others, mostly the wealthiest, went to SF in the USA. That is the political power base that Pelosi has to mollify. These people are not necessarily the nicest folks around. As a matter of fact a over the years some of their opponents have been silenced in a most effective way.
"In 1949 Henry Liu fled the Communists to Taiwan, where he became a reporter outspokenly critical of nationalist China's repressive regime. Emigrating to San Francisco in 1967, Liu became a U.S. citizen and wrote a scathing biography of Chiang Ching-kuo, Taiwan's president. Liu was also a fervent anti-Communist. In 1984 he was murdered by agents of Taiwan's ruling Kuomintang (KMT) party."
The book was published 2 weeks before his murder.
Politics, as they say makes for strange bedfellows.....
i support
@Alcoac
1. Why do you fake up the Shanghai international film festival as Shanghai French film festival? Why did you lie?
2. Is Tibet part of China or not? YOu can say it should not be, you can say history tells us XYZ coz you think your history is good, but just answer the question simple, IS TIBET NOW PART OF CHINA?
3. I have never said I support CPC, where did you get that? I have never said I like Chinese media, where di you get that?
4. In your "logic", i love China- yes I do...
and I support CPC- did i say that?
so I am a nationalist... ok, that is your logic: people who love their nation should be taken for granted that love the parties in charge... and thus they are nationalists...
I dont wanna talk to you again, dude. I dont respect you, because first you are a lair and fake things up; 2nd your history is bad but you are always ready to give us a lesson...;3rd you assume things over your imagination...;4th you dont ready before you reply... you are just repeating your points and taking things for granted...
Yes, in your view, anyone who loves China is your enemy and nationalist...
To help counter the boycott, I bought 1248 kuai worth of French wine yesterday.
Winterfalling: "why did you sneak into some smelly tiny shops and ask 'any DVD?'"
Because your government bans the legal versions.
I would totally wear that shirt abe, great idea! I could of course only wear it outside of china, seeing as Hu jin tao and the rest of the goons (hehe!) from his government would have me jailed and tortured for subversion. Oh, how great it is to live in such free country that is China!
@littleme
You know what? you are nothing but a trash full of jibber-jabber. Tell me your nationality if you were not raped by your step father, and let's find out how dirty and ugly your country is.
according to the census conducted in 2000, as referred to in Wikipedia, “there were 2,616,300 people in Tibet, with Tibetans totalling 2,411,100 or 92.2% of the current regional population. The census also revealed that the Tibetan's average lifespan has increased to 68 due to the improving standard of living and access to medical services.” In 1950 the average lifespan was only 35, and “infant mortality has dropped from 43% in 1950 to 0.661% in 2000.”
more than imagination...
brainwashed chinese people are eagerly waiting for rescue of you world's police...plz hurry!!

2. From 1951 until the present, Tibet has absolutely been part of China, because it is part of the Chines Empire.
3. You don't support the party? Then why do you support all of their policies and behavior? Explain please.
4. Of course you support China now. You support the People's Republic of China a.k.a. The Communist Chinese Empire. You support people becoming slaves. What's the second line of China's national anthem? Seems like you've forgotten.
Let's stop arguing with each other. Let's together support Free China! Alright?
@iiirene
Simple, simple, simple.
Have you compared these improvements with other groups living under similar conditions to those living in Tibet?
Your argument is neither complete nor valid. Do you know that these improvements were not shared by other similar groups around the world over the same time period? Are you certain that these very basic improvements are not related to an overall improvement in living standards in many places around the world as a result of improving technology? Have you accounted for immigration and changing demographics? The truth is, that it's highly possible that the Tibetans would have achieved such gains (or better) without Chinese involvement, and as I see it, you are simply using a small piece of information to fit the conclusion of your misleading argument. It's not such a simple world, unfortunately.
In any event, it's obvious that no one likes to be subjugated to outsiders, and no statistics will change what people really want. Obviously the metrics you cite really don't address the real issue.
@ Crespo
A trash full of jibber jabber....huh? Raped by my step father....huh? Well, even if i was unfortunate enough to be raped by my step father, or really anyone in that case, what does that have to do with how "dirty and ugly" my country is? Each comment you make just makes you look more and more stupid. Keep em' coming! I love a good laugh!
COULD ALL YOU ANTI-CHINESE OR ANTI-CHINA stop visiting site that relates to China, if you happend to be living in China, please get out, and if you doing business with China, please also stop.
WE DO NOT WANT YOU !!!!!!
@ Tommylee2
If reading people's differing opinions bothers u that much, maybe u should stick to your Chinese-only forums. That way you dont have to get all wound up when people simply state THEIR OWN perspective.
