Video: Anti-CNN protest in Los Angeles

Protests, protests everywhere — in Europe, within China, and all across the United States. Quite frankly, we can barely catch up with it all. Watch protestors shout "CNN liar! Cafferty fire!" in this video of the anti-CNN demonstration which took place outside CNN's studios in downtown LA that we told you about earlier. [h/t to Danwei]

yes! yes! YES!!! show the truth! the china only know the truth! fuck you CNN! fuck the america! chinese people need not the olympical torch to come. we have same mind like the crowd of insects of glory! the truth shall set the freedom! tibet tibet china china cnn fuck fuck!

Protesting CNN? In retaliation, I call on all Americans to boycott Panda Express. That'll show 'em!

Very interesting to see Chinese immigrants being used as geopolitical tools, asserting PRC positions in the United States. Furthermore, it's interesting the degree to which the internet and cheap air travel (1) increase the ease of immigration and (2) decrease the need for immigrants to assimilate.

I have an idea! Lets all gather in front of the CCTV office and hold an anti-cctv protest for all the lies and biased reporting they do. Lets create a website called "anticctv.com" and post all the reasons why it's such shit. Or we could just ignore it and take it for what it is, which is really what the Chinese should do regarding CNN.

dare you not reject the truth of china and cctv! xinhua! cctv! global times! these are the glorious breath of hope in evil world of corrupt america!

iraq?? think about iraq!

(Sigh) Well, At least they are FREE to express their thoughts once in awhile that is... Hopefully this makes Chinese have more protest in their own country as NGO folks......because at this point, all I see is another geopolitical event :)

Alcoac-you need more work on your fake Chinese accent. Weak game you loser.

Time to start lobbing gas bombs at Chinese consulates and cutting the power and water to Chinatowns.

Bad, dirty, dog face China.

hehe, who seriously like panda express? their food is horrible. however, all my white friends can't get enough of that orange chicken. come on.

Please, not Panda Express! Anything but that! NO!!!! :-) With the amount of sugar they put in everything, I don't know whether that General Tso's Chicken is an entrée or a dessert.

After living through the idiocy here in the USA during the anti-French debacle (if I hear "freedom fries" one more time I'll strangle someone), I wish people would just hang back and take a breather. If you really want to be offended by something, there are seriously offensive things taking place everywhere. Look at genocide in Africa, or starvation in many places, corporate greed, slaughter of wildlife... be offended by that, not these manufactured slights that aren't going to do anything but raise your blood pressure and cause you to have sleepless nights.

I dont think the Chinese are actually aware the damage that some of their exports to the US and other countries actually did. Aside from many dogs dying from the dog food, many children got seriously sick and some died from the lead paint on the toys. The fact is, is that there is very little confidence in anything coming from China anymore. I dont think Cafferty was out of line for calling Chinese exports junk.

littleme - You are making some pretty inflammatory statements here. There is documented evidence that somewhere between 100 and 1000 pets died from contaminated pet food. There were children who were injured due to swallowing magnets in toys but the toy maker Mattel admitted that the design flaw that lead to the magnets becoming detached was their own and not a Chinese company. However, I am very skeptical about your claim of children dying from lead paint in toys. If you can't provide evidence from a credible news source about these deaths it is very irresponsible to spread rumors like this. Please cite your sources. The Chinese owner of the company that used lead paint on some toys is dead though, he hanged himself after being found out...

I don't think any children died from the lead paint. However, some children DID pass out after swallowing beads made of a date-rape drug that a Chinese company had switched in because it was a cheaper ingredient. ALSO, it appears highly likely - though the verdict is not 100% - that a tainted ingredient in a Chinese blood thinner is responsible for over 80 deaths in America alone.

Quality control is a problem in China, though it is also true that the media blows the threat out of proportion.

It does blow it out of proportion and considering the huge amount of exports coming from China I guess some faults will inevitably be found in a very small percentage, as is with any country's exports. I was under the impression that children did die, though Les is right in that there is no evidence of this so it was not right to make that statement. China will need time to counter its quility control problem, but it appears it is taking the steps to do so.

Chinese laws on bad quality control and tainted food and medicine are becoming more effective but that doesn't excuse it when it happens. It does seem that China is attempting to prosecute those who harm or endanger consumers. The fact is, as evidenced by the people in the US who died from salmonella poisoned spinach last year, or the BSE beef case in Europe, strong measures are needed to protect the food supply no matter what country you are in.

littleme:
CCTV has never humiliated people of any other countries. and CCTV has never labeled themselves as impartial. CCTV news presenters always make public apology for their small mistakes, and CCTV is criticized by Chinese at daily basis (pls read Chinese web forum)

CNN -- WOW! i have no comments. but for sure i will make donation to those Chinese and that US lawyer firm who are suing CNN for 1.3billion USD
We, Chinese, have this 'let it go' attitude for quite many years. but not this one, not this time. enough is enough...

That CCTV9 TV show with the black guy who travels around China is pretty humiliating of foreigners. His jokes are so corny! Seriously. And Da Shan too, every time I get compared to Da Shan I feel that 1.6 billion white people have been insulted. I'd love to riot about Da Shan.

Every motherfucker on the street knows that the Chinese government is a bunch of goons and thugs, and even if you disagree, people should have the right to say it. Certainly such talk isn't limited to talking about China - Google lists 51,400 hits for "Bush is a Nazi."

The lawsuit won't go anywhere, save your money.

@Alec
I just found out about the tainted Heparin today. Scary stuff! Hopefully the FDA will confirm the cause in the next few days. Sad!

@littleme

there is no anti-CCTV.com coz there are not as many freaks as you and Alec on the earth. and protest in fron the CCTV, you'll get battered

swallow, bitch.

@fjiofojif

too bad you can only watch CCTV9 and get pissed, why dont you screw back to your own fuking mother land and enjoy something better then Dashan and the black guy.

YOu confused bastard.

@nanheyangrouchuan

go and suck panda's hairy balls with your 羊肉串 mouth.

Hey, who lit the dog crap on fire?

Oh, that's just the smell of China.

What is truly sad is the Chinese youth seem to have no comprehension of freedom of speech. Someone may have something to say that you disagree with, but this does not mean you have to beat the person down. Argue your point fine. But when an editorial (the Chinese need to look up what the rest of the world defined editorial as) calls the Chinese thugs and then the government and citizens turn around and act like thugs in response it proves the editorialist's point.

Just like the chaos that ensued among the students in Tiananmen when the students tried to create their own democracy and resorted to violent attack on one another, the world sees the same here.

The violent attack on South Koreans was terrible during the torch march.

The Chinese have a blind nationalsim the world has not seen since 1930's Germany.
