Where we're going tonight: The Doll House @ The Shelter

Like celebrity chefs and famous fashion houses, the world of big name DJs always seems oddly male-dominated. The Shelter will be doing their best to redress that gender imbalance tonight however, with an all-female line-up on the decks.

From the promoter:

"With the local DJ/Club scene constantly growing, there has, up until recently, been very few female DJs in Shanghai. Over the last year or so we have seen a good number of new female DJs enter the scene, as well as the more established females DJs growing from strengh to strengh. The Doll House presents some of the best female talent in Shanghai, and to celebrate this The Shelter will offer a whole 5 mao discount to women!"

Yep, entry tonight is 10RMB for the boys but only 9.5RMB for the girls. Things will get going around 9pm and we're promised "DnB, electro, funk, soul, and more" from a line-up including DJ Siesta (pictured), Ekki, SS, Wolf Candy, and Y?

So, after a day of soaking up some May 1st sunshine, and then rocking out over at YYT, you could do a lot worse than heading over to The Shelter for the night.
