She's far too smart and reasonable. Wonder how many death threats are getting posted on her blog right now?

Then again, how does the 'western press' do anything 'unilaterally'? Fancy word, love, great IELTS score for it, but you ain't using it right. The many thousands of outlets that comprise the 'western media' don't speak with one voice, they couldn't if they wanted to. The key word is 'western'; our press doesn't get handed one version of the truth for dissemination, unlike somewhere I could mention.

Final proof, if any were needed, that when smart-seeming people use the phrase 'as a Chinese', utter numbskullery is not far behind.

Yeah, Chinese identity politics are really bizarre in the way that everyone seems to think they can legitimately speak on behalf of "we Chinese" without even adding a caveat of any sort to account for dissenting opinions/values/ideas -- e.g. substituting the phrase "a lot of people in China."

Secondly, it's dumbfounding that someone as sophisticated as Huang Hung get's so worked-up about people questioning her on Tibet. People always ask me simple, broad-brush questions out of pure curiosity here, such as "do you think the US and China will go to war?" Maybe she should be flattered, because at least people think she knows something.

Great find, summarizes what I've never been able to put into words! Thanks for posting!

lol As if her appearance has anything to do with what she has to say. And of course western media doesn't speak just one voice. There are really six voices and of course the board members don't overlap, either.

Ah yes, those evil old board members, so busy every day telling every single journalist in every western country what they should write. Because that's how it works over there in westernia-land, isn't it, children?

It is so refreshing living in China, a society where money doesn't rule everything. And we're all free to do and say exactly what we like, with no evil corporations looking over our shoulders. So lucky!

HOLY FUCK! The daughter of Mao's English teacher? Coiner of the term "capitalist roader?" She must know what she's talking about.

In case you forgot, Tom, Dick, and Harry, not to mention Pierre, Luigi, Fritz, they all the same.

it is just wording. When you hear"we Chinese", you are not stupid enough to believe the speaker refers to all Chinese(every Chinese), are you? Of course you know the speaker refers the majority of Chinese. So why you are so fussy about the wording?
If you want to challenge her viewpoints, just focus on the topic itself. Picking out the wording doesn't help. It just makes fool of yourself

@phillyshanghaikid

of course her appearance has to do with what she is talking about.....

she is so ugly, it's gonna make most people turn off the video to watch something else.
