Police seek information on Yangpu bus explosion suspect

Police seeks information on Yangpu bus explosion suspectSorry this bears no relation to the Sichuan earthquake, but has any of you seen this in your hood yet? We don't have any time to translate this right now (maybe one of you can help), but apparently they're looking for the suspect in the explosion of Bus 942 in Yangpu District which happened earlier this month. The (dead) suspect is said to be around 40 years of age, 1.64m tall, and sports about 9 (shoddily-made) fake teeth. And the police are offering a reward of RMB50,000 for anyone who can give them any solid details about this man. [h/t to reader Tom Pellman]

UPDATE: So it appears this guy may not be a suspect after all [h/t Joon Ian and Micah]. From WSJ:

While police haven’t publicly labeled the man a suspect, on Sunday they offered up to 50,000 yuan in reward money for information about him.
Still strikes us as odd.

Is there any indication that he's a suepect other than the police looking to identify his body?

The WSJ's China Journal had a post on this.

PS up to the minute earthquake updates from that WSJ blog. they have several people on the ground there

^ you mean other than the 50,000rmb reward for info offered?

Yes. From the WSJ article (thanks Joon!):

While police haven’t publicly labeled the man a suspect, on Sunday they offered up to 50,000 yuan in reward money for information about him.

I hate it when they do that. 讲事实,反误导,反炒作!

A criminal will be found and will confess to the crime!
