Shanghaiist has been nonstop busy for the past several days fielding emails and returning calls from companies interested in donating to the raffle at ‘The Great Shanghaiist Benefit for Earthquake Victims at Sasha’s’. It’s a great reason to feel overworked.
How the raffle works: Everyone who attends the BBQ for dinner will get one chance to win a prize. If you want to donate additional money to our designated charity, the Foundation for Poverty Alleviation, and have a greater chance of winning prizes, you can buy more tickets for 50RMB each.
Within a short time, we have managed to put together well over 20,000RMB worth of prizes, not including our wonderful sponsors’ donations for the BBQ: Sasha’s Bar and Restaurant, Glory, and Stella Artois.
As an added bonus, a mysterious donor has said they will match 50% of the funds raised for the evening. That means, when you pay 180RMB for the BBQ and free flow beer, 270RMB will be donated to the charity! Yes, you heard that right! Nobody is going to make any money on that day, so every single cent is going straight to charity!
Here is the current list of our generous donors and their fabulous prizes:
