Guai Li, No Name and more live music

So we have been slacking off this week on getting out the list of gigs. But there is a valid excuse... laziness and heat doesn’t mix well and hit us like that proverbial ton of bricks. The good news is that not much was happening last night, while tonight is full of choices. We aren't sure what is happening out at Yuyintang but we have been getting reports that both No Name and Guai Li are scheduled to play there tonight. Both bands are worth checking out, but offer completely different sounds (neither are mellow). Guai Li is also confirmed to be playing the STD party at Logo later tonight. Another pop punk band from Beijing, Magic Mama, is playing at Live Bar. We haven't heard the band before so can't say much. The old Windows Tembo is celebrating its last weekend at the old location with local acts the Honeys and Blue Garden.

Highly recommend the No Name show. Ray Yao, the lead singer is an old friend of mine from Xi'an, where I used to catch their shows two years ago. They've only gotten better since then. They do a very good HARD punk show!

..."and hit us like that proverbial ton of bricks"

Ouch! Bad timing. Who subbing this?

please china leave rock and roll to the americans

Thanks a lot for that utterly essential update Shanghaiist, why bother so much as uttering a passing reference to the fact that two Italian Serie A giants were playing in Shanghai, when such musical titans as Guai Li and Magic Mama were in town on the same night?

You're a pack of effete, asinine fucking amateurs.

In fact, next time Real Madrid or Barcelona turn up in Shanghai, why not post a voyeuristic necrophile wank post about suicide victims instead, you fucking incompetents.

Futhermore;

Please continue to post trite, cliche-riddled reviews of Shanghai Shenhua's league games having previously listed the fixtures as being played a good three days off the mark.

If you haven't got the fucking picture some people like live sport.
