It's that time of the year again — temperatures are creeping up, and we spotted our first shirtless market stall holder at the weekend; summer is just around the corner.
For those of us still refusing to crank up the a/c just yet, here is a handy little device that might help you get a more restful night's sleep.
It's a plastic pillow made from small tiles, laced together with strong elastic for comfort and support.
Lying on one (modeled here) is a bit like trying to fall asleep on a Scrabble board, but the breeze around the head region is a definite bonus.
Currently available at Tesco's for 7.4RMB.
Sweet dreams.

Week Around the Ists

always though these were supposed to be made of bamboo slats but hey, looks comfortable enough!
The missus got one a long time ago, but it was the full bedspread. I was reluctant at first, but she's right. It did make a hell of a difference and not uncomfortable to sleep on at all.
Yeah, I was going to say that these are supposed to be made of bamboo tiles, although I'm not sure if that's the case. The bed-sized mats are nice, too.
Well perhaps your butlers deliver bamboo versions to your penthouse suites, but the common man here is making do with plastic!
james, those are bamboo tiles on your as well I think. hence the coolness, plastic would probably stick to your skin.
other than *ucking Hymall, small household stalls have them too.
Looks like something you'd use to play Mahjong in your sleep... I'll keep the A/C and the cotton/silk 400 thread count pillow cases/sheets.
