And there was another crane collapse in NYC, killing a few people.
There has been a suggestion that around the world there are too many old cranes in use for all of the construction that is going on, and that constant use is shortening the lifespans of new and old ones.
Another side effect of globalization.
I think the crane catastrophes are yet another example of corporate greed. Businesses trying to get by with spending the least amount of money possible are shortchanging safety and the welfare of their employees and the general public.
