Get in the Van II and STD anniversary parties

This weekend and next there are a couple of parties of notable exception that should be on everyone’s calendar.

Saturday - June 7th

Get in the Van II - Windows Underground & Anar - 10pm (50rmb)

Saturday, the Get in the Van boys are back for another round of boozing it up on the buses. This time around they have decided to bring down Joyside, a hard partying garage band from Beijing who will be joined by Boys Climbing Ropes, Rouge Transmission and a mystery band. The venues have changed, with the new Windows Underground playing host and Anar providing the after party. Things get started at 10pm and after Joyside, BCR and Rouge T get the crowd sweating everyone will pile onto the waiting buses where free Reeb will keep the party going until they reach Anar. At Anar a mystery band will be performing along with a bunch of Mod Djs. All for the economical price of 50rmb.

Friday & Saturday - June 13th-14th

Next weekend party promoters STD are celebrating their first year anniversary with a massive bash out at the Moganshan art area. This is a two day event. On Friday, New Pants, one of the biggest underground bands in China will be joined by locals, Cold Fairyland. New Pants might not be known among the mainstream crowd but their last album is supposedly sold over 100,000 copies. No small number for the piracy loving mainland market. Re-tros, a well respected post punk bands from Beiing along with Banana Monkey will wrap up the birthday bash on Saturday night. With great bands and a chance to party (after hours) at the normally slow paced Moganshan Road this could be an epic event.
