Stoli, the reason that it is restricted to American citizens is due to the campaign finance laws we have. Foreign citizens are prohibited from making campaign contributions. In past elections, some candidates had to return money when it was discovered to have originated from foreign sources.

"And since this is a US political event, only US citizens and permanent US residents can attend."

Good, cause you know American foreign policy only affects Americans!

Wow awesome. He is head and shoulders above all the other candidates. I am hoping he will make liberals more focused and coherent.

His speeches are nice but what I am looking forward on his stance for TOTAL equal rights for Gay Marriage since he's all about "unity" and "Change"...we'll see how he plays out. I liked Ron Paul at least he was always straight forward about it.

It's a shame. In the most powerful country in the world, the candiate who is the most 'liberal' and represents 'hope' has voted for every single appropriation bill he faced on Iraq and refused to be photographed with the mayor of Sanfrancisco in case it was interpreted as supporting gay marriage. He also opposes single payer or univeral health care.

There's really no hope.

Ivo and Phil? For $1000 you'd think you get to meet and greet Reverend Wright.
