The screening schedule for the 11th Shanghai International Film Festival, running from June 14 to 22, is out and categorized by the cinemas that are screening the movies.
You can get your tickets at the 23 cinemas participating in the Film Festival or book tickets through East Tickets 东方票务at 962388 (website). The (confirmed) prices of the tickets range from 40, 50 and 60 RMB, but the one tricky logistic is that the price is only determined the day of the movie.
We’re slightly perplexed by the varied quality of films. Considering that the festival aims to draw the best of international film, we’re scratching our heads as to some selected American films. Can anyone explain how The Heartbreak Kid, starring the growingly-tiresome Ben Stiller, or The Game Plan, starring former WWF star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, made it to the list? Nonetheless, given the cosmopolitan and international nature of our fair city, there should be something in store for everyone.
Looking at the array of films which have been out for a while, some might be tempted to head to their local DVD shop rather than plonk down beer money for a ticket. But Shanghaiist says: do your part, support the Film Festival!
P.S Anyone interested in ogling at stars can head on down to the Shanghai Grand Theatre on June 14 before 7pm.
