Comedy in Shanghai: Tonight and Saturday @ Racks

On an average Saturday night, the funniest thing about Racks in Xintiandi is that they charge 98RMB+ an hour for pool when most other bars let you play for free. This weekend however a former organiser of "Chopschticks" is bringing in some hot comedy talent from NYC to amuse the suckers.

JesseJoyce-%20KeithAlberstadt.jpgJesse Joyce and Keith Alberstadt are both based in New York and will be joint headlining tonight and Saturday as part of their Asian tour. What with this tour and the regular comedy nights at O'Malley's seems to suggest that standup nights in the city are starting to get a real foothold.

Let's just hope that neither of these guys has any jokes about Tibet.

Shanghai Dave Headliners Comedy Tour
From 8pm, tonight and Saturday
Racks, 5F, #7 South Block, XinTianDi
250RMB

Advance Tickets are, oddly, available from Sherpas on 6209 6209.

Once I heard Bill Maher mocking Dalai Lama.

yeah I remember a great Seinfeld sketch

"And what's the deal with re-incarnation? You drop a little litter on your first life and someone up there's going: bad karma, give him a squint?"

Funniest thing about that place is that they failed to produce the King of NY.
