The Chinese have a saying: "Everything has a cause and there is an explanation for the actions of everyone". And it is true. This man did not touch a single woman in that station. Any Chinese knows he is facing death for actions of this type. So what is it that could push a rational man to act in such manner that he would choose death rather than living with his other pain? Most foreigners have absolutely no clue how the Chinese government treats those of its subjects who are not close "guanxi". The truth is this man was unjustly arrested, badly tortured and threatened to keep his mouth shut. China needs to rid itself of its local government guys and this is one step in the first direction. Expect far more of same and applaud.

The local officials should look into what makes this young man so mad to go this horrific rampage; it may drag out some other story.

I was talking to a Shanghainese guy yesterday who was also wondering how the hell you inflict 6 fatal stab wounds before being grappled in a police station. This guy was telling me he thought the killer must be some kind of soldier to manage it.

"What's this got to do with the Olympics..." It would seem that, coinciding with Beijing's pre-Olympic crackdowns, there is an increasing number of public eruptions of one kind or another. Further investigation is of course needed to determine whether any one of these incidents (Guizhou riots, etc.) has anything to do with a general increase in public tension; but the theory shouldn't be taken lightly. Crackdowns can lead to crack-ups.

Knives are excessively dangerous and lethal, especially if very sharp. Doesn't take much for a human to bleed out. Saw the alleged perp on ICS's ten o'clock news. Small little guy. Standard kitchen knife. Very fucked up story.
