The suspect was caught on video after no one reported anything to the police until the police found the body on Chongming Island? I smell quick cover up. The accused was probably just someone that some cop didn't like and fingered him as the murderer.

A dose of skepticism is always healthy - especially in China, and especially less than a month before the Olympics. Dead foreigners aren't good PR, so it is in their best interest to wrap this case up quickly and quietly.

It was reported that the suspect was caught on video and that the video was shown to people in hopes of identifying him. Makes perfect sense that they would talk to people and businesses in the area and if he indeed worked at a restaurant nearby, he could have been easily identified. I think you guys are jumping the gun.
