Ways to beat the heat: Cans of chardonnay

chardonnay%20in%20a%20can.JPGRefreshing and boozy- sparkling wine in a can is like a cool wave of refreshment breaking on your sweaty summer brow.

At 4% vol alcohol you probably shouldn't have too many on your way to work, but really, who are we to judge?

Available in Chardonnay or Rose from Alldays. 6.50RMB

haha, I came upon it the other day too. got a can sitting in the fridge now, maybe a review up next.

6.50 is out of my price range for wine

I've actually tried the rose' version. Pretty gross, with a strong plastic-y aftertaste. I'm surprised a Japanese company would put out such a crappy product.

El Jefe- maybe you and some mates could club together?

MF- I'm not tempted by the rose actually, it sounds like a step too far.

Mmmmm, that piquant nose of apple, spice, and aluminum... so refreshing. :-)

It's just a matter of time before it shows up in the US.

Canned wine with a platter of spam and cheese whiz...

I actually prefer this over boxed wine.

I recently blogged about this canned wine too. I do like to check out all the latest introductions at the convenience stores, especially my favorite, Lawson's--where they actually have lots of decent snacks and beverages. In this case, I have to admit I never bought another can--I can't say it was that much worse than a Bacardi Breezer (but I once had a Breezer in my fridge for 2 years after someone left it at my house, that's about how appealing they are--and about how frequently my fridge gets cleaned out).
