Will Miss China have a chance to be the next Miss Universe?

UPDATE: As we suspected, Miss Venezuela did win the contest.

80 of the world's most beautiful ladies are in the Vietnamese city of Nha Trang fighting for the Miss Universe crown today, and one of them is Miss China Wei Ziya, whose close up interview is featured here in the video on the right (also here, here and here). Hot favourite of the punters on betting website Bookmakers.com is Miss Venezuela (and wow, she does seem like a winner), but then this article suggests online punters looking for the best value should "keep an eye out to the Far East, primarily Miss Singapore, Korea and Malaysia" simply because not as many people are betting on them. Last year's winner Riyo Mori of Japan scored a major upset and paid out record $2200 for every $100 bet on her odds to be crowned Miss Universe.

More close-up interviews of selected participants after the jump, but do brace yourself for some cringeworthy statements...

Miss Japan & Miss Korea

Miss Venezuela & Miss Puerto Rico

Miss Mexico & Miss Brazil

Miss USA & Miss Australia

Miss Singapore & Miss Malaysia

Miss India & Miss Philippines

Miss Norway & Miss France

Miss Kazakhstan & Miss Russia

Miss UK & Miss Spain
