The Olympics mean a whole hell of a lot to China — it didn’t take a crazy guy on a bicycle to help us figure that out. But why? In this video, Chinese take a break from their daily activities to try to explain the motivations behind the Olympic madness, which they say range from national health and unity to international recognition and understanding. Despite the hassles of the past few months, this is the time for the ancient country to step into the future with their best foot forward, and its citizens are eager to explain why they are so excited about the opportunity to showcase the culture and virtue of their newly-modern nation.

Hi. I made the video.
All the people featured are either neighbours, friends, or others we see regularly, except for the one female student, who was a random passerby that got cajoled into it by the guy who guards the bikes near the gym where we exercise.
I blogged it on our own site: ChinaHopeLive.net

Out-of-date conclusion. It might be true 4 month ago, but not now.
The west taught Chinese that olympic is a western thing and narrow-minded west is not happy about China hosting it. They could grant it to a poor China 7 years ago but not to a strong China now.
Chinese can only blame themselves for developing too quickly and eighty percent of Chinese are looking forward to the closing ceremony when they can sigh a relief and talk with another voice.
