Shanghai to kick its smoking habit?

fimpa.JPG In a move to help realize Beijing's ideal of a non-smoking Olympics, Shanghai has made an effort to curb its inhabitants' unhealthy habits — smoking in cafés and restaurants associated with the Games will now be prohibited. Hotels will be required to offer non-smoking floors and rooms, as well as cafeterias. Smoking in taxis will not be permitted for either customers or drivers. According to the China News Agency's Shanghai bureau another, smoking in hospitals will now also be prohibited (you mean it wasn't before?).

Well, we all know smoking is bad for your health. But for those of you worried for your lungs, you might want to check out the Ministry of Environment Protection's homepage where you can get a daily update on the air pollution in China's major cities.

But for those who don't worry for your lungs, you might want to quit the cigarettes, finaly, but update your taste to opium. There are still some very old but valuable stuff imported from England in 1840 and stored in China History Museum. Dont worry the entry is free for so-called expats (Yanghunhun) during Olympic time, LOL!
