China's Premier today urged the country's men's basketball team to "win honor for the motherland." But mostly we just wanted an excuse to run this photo of 65-year-old Wen's proper form — and, yes, we are talking about his decision to don dark socks with black dress shoes.

Did he make the bucket?
He doesn't have to be a lefty. Maybe he was just taught proper form - use the left hand from the left side of the basket on layups.
I just figured a 65-year-old politician doing a layup for a photo op wouldn't choose to do it with his weak hand.
I read that he had to do it 5 times in a row to put one ball in.
5 times is not too bad when you've got the ENTIRE NATION's media's camera crews on you, and you're a politician who has not likely touched a basketball in years...
Correct me if I'm wrong, but that ball looks suspiciously too small compared with the enormous basket. I think Wen was using a girl's ball, or perhaps even a kid's (there are different sizes). Looks like he can almost palm it and his head is about the same size. Now how many guys do you know with a noggin as large as a basketball?
Not to call Wen out or anything - love the form and the fashion. Good to see China has a player!
Feds: It's called optical distortion, by means of a wide angle lens used to capture the ball. Believe me, I know this.
Feds - I think the Molton ball used for international play is *slightly* smaller than the spalding.
The folks that ran the venue begged him not to shatter the backboard with a windmill dunk like he did last time
