For those of you who's always wondered, here's a simple guide to making you very own doughy Olympic Fuwa. According to their creator, a little man who can be found at the Jiangpu Road market on weekends, these little fellows are made of flour, though unfortunately they are not edible:
1. Start with the upper part of the body and the head, make it a nice round shape. Add some gray dough to the upper part of the head.
2. Now it's time to give the head its proper look by putting the ears and the green Olympic flames(?) in place. Remember to attach the ears firmly. The face is easily made out of small pieces of black dough.
3. In this step it's time to add the lower part of the body. Split the lower body in half to make your fuwa's legs, add small pieces of dough to its side to make its arms.
4. Your fuwa is now finished! Leave it to dry for a few hours before bringing it with you to the Olympic celebrations.

And then having it confiscated for unlicensed copyright usage.
5. Buy illegal fireworks and BLOW THEM THE HELL UP!

He is a quite talented artisan, but he would be sued out of existence in the USA by some stupid parent who lets their spoiled brat try to eat it. Or the government would mandate so many warning labels be placed on the product, you wouldn't be able to see the product. Maybe that's lead paint he's using to colour the dough? ;-)
