I found out the hard way my parents were 'old' when they first came to visit me in China. Of course, like most Westerners, their holidays are mostly in the summer - the worst time to come to China in many respects. We went to Badaling, just because it'd be easier, but they could only walk a couple of hundred meters. The wall is steep!! Walking around in the heat is hard enough without going vertical. I found even the long walk around the Forbidden City to be a bit much for them. For all those of you having your parents visit, plan out plenty of rest stops and cold drinks : )</p>
