"Team Darfur" athlete carries the flag for Team USA
The flag bearer for USA in tonight's Olympic opening ceremony will be 1,500-meter runner Lopez Lomong, part of the organization Team Darfur, an organization which has been voicing strong opposition of Chinese involvement in this area. Lomong himself is originally from Sudan, has been living in America for the last seven years but has only been an American for 13 months. This choice of flag bearer does not seem to be entirely in line with the IOC's vision of an Olympics free of political manifestations. To find out who's bearing your country's flag, check out this full list of flag-bearers released by the IOC.

The IOC is a sham and should be disbanded. Jacques Rouge's house should be burned to the ground.

Fucking IOC also blocked broadcasting of the opening ceremonies on CCTV4 and 9... I'd have to wait to watch it on NBC tonight.

Listening to US broadcast personalities narrate the opening ceremony/Spring Festival gala sends shivers down my spine. F*n panda lickers.

To nanheyangrouchuan,
The torch was lit finally after a long journey, to your dismay, under the very eyes of your beloved helmsman Bushit and good-for-nothing pimp and "F*n panda lickers" Sarkozy.
Well, while the world is celebrating, you can just run swiftly back to your pigsty with your thin tail between your short legs, I mean hinter legs and roll vigurously in mud and swollow the delicious fat. LOL!

"Well, while the world is celebrating'
Check the press. I would say coverage is mixed, not universally celebratory. To the tune of: "Great coming out party... but." Even in Hong Kong, I would say that the mood is muted. Nobody I know is even watching.
