I was in awe of the opening ceremony. It was a true spectacle that all the people of China should be proud of.

I'd have to say it was pretty kick ass.

Director Zhang Yi Mou put Spielberg in shame.

It was extravagant and absolutely fabulous. Well done China! All the hard work really paid off!

What was so special about a hyper Spring Festival show?

It was pretty, but much too ethnocentric, and more of a celebration of the "cult of Chinese culture" than anything else.

The emphasis on the four inventions and ethnic unity was overwrought and just more propaganda and lies from the thugs and goons in Beijing. "Look at how happy our stinking little poor, stupid, culturally-inferior, exploited minority people are!" says China, "See how much they love China too!" Fuck you.

If you asked the man or woman who supposedly invented any of the so-called "four inventions of ancient China" where he or she was from, he or she would definitely not answer "China" and they would not answer in Chinese. Nor is there any concrete evidence that these were not adopted from elsewhere.

As it is, most Chinese IP is begged, borrowed and stolen from the rest of the world, so what's changed? They're grasping for straws and would claim to have invented fire and the wheel if it weren't so overtly stupid.

I tried to watch the opening ceremonies with an open mind, but was sickened by all of the hatred and lies woven into the cult of Chinese culture.

To Vera,
Your desperation, fear, hatred, anger and jealousy to a rising boy next door are so obvious for all to see that I wonder how you managed to fall in sleep that night in your dark and rotten room, like your step-dad Daliar Lama.
How would your type be called under daylight? Oh yes, narrow-minded small man.
Fuck you, by a "thugs and goons".

Ugh, I hate to do this as usually Eastman is an ignorant prick, but this time i think I almost agree with him. Vera, while you have the right to that opinion and if thats what floats your boat, so be it. But if the way you comment is any indication of how you really are, then I pity you. ...but not as much as i pity Eastman.

The problem with you in your life time was you could never make yourself remembered, until you found the 888, lol!

turns out that much of what we saw as far as fireworks was fake computer graphics.
