Dancer injured during opening ceremony rehearsal

The Chinese media reports the tragic story of Liu Yan (刘岩) who only ten days before the opening ceremony missed a step and fell three metres down the platform during rehearsals for the opening ceremony. The dancer from Inner Mongolia was rushed to hospital where she endured a 6 hour surgery however when she regained consciousness had lost movement and feeling to the lower half of her body. The article reports how her parents rushed from Hohhot to be with their daughter. The multiple-award winning dancer was supposed to have been on stage for only two minutes, but her tragic mis-step spelt the premature end to a promising career.

I just wonder how people tend to fall for this game, costly, since it reminds me of that Tibeten fattie "go-hang" who fell two stories down from the roof of the Chinese Consulate in San Francisco one day before the Game began, for which she might have to enjoy the honour to be among the highest prison population for a 6 months, in bandages. lol!

At least she did something she believed in without being such a prick.

Too bad she didn't leave a bomb on top of the PeeRC consulate before she fell.

nan: you have to admit, falling while staging a mock hanging on the roof is rather ironic and comical.

Yes, too bad she didn't leave herself on top while dropping down the bomb.
