All indications show the disease which you infer originated in sub-Saharan Africa, most likely due to a mutation of a Simian virus transmitted from the consumption of "bush meat". Due to this being the origin, this is also where the virus has been the most devastating to the general population. So, your bigoted comment about "America-originated" is either uninformed or, most likely, just a result of your personal prejudice. Neither cause, however, is a valid excuse.
