China stumbled off to a poor first half in its match against Greece Monday evening, scoring only 24 points and missing every attempt at a three-pointer. In the third quarter, the team launched a strong comeback and managed to cut the deficit to 10 in the last three minutes, but Greece was simply too far ahead to beat. After the game, Yao Ming who led the team with 16 points to finish 91-77 was said to have walked past reporters without saying a word, shouting angrily at himself and punching his left hand as he left the tunnel. Speculation is that Yao was pissed off at being given 18 minutes to play by China coach Jonas Kazlauskas (from Lithuania), who when asked by the Wall Street Journal responded by saying:
"Yao is a fighter. He wants to play. He wants to fight, but he is a player and I am the coach... I am the one making these decisions . . . Yao should play for a long time, but today was not the time."Team mate Li Nan opened the press conference after the match with a simple statement expressing his disappointment at losing the game, but the straw that broke the camel's back was a (really dumb) question by a Chinese journalist who asked him about how he felt about seeing Liu Xiang giving up on the 100-metre hurdles and limping out of the stadium. Li Nan shot back:
"Is that a basketball player? Does he play for our team? And I don't understand why you are asking a question about him."before proceeding to remove his headphones, dropping them onto the table, and then storming out of the press conference.

Starting your own champaign of Yao Ming is like bashing NBA. Tell me which players in NBA DIDNT lose temper sometimes?
Most couragous thing for a loser to do is to think a run-up on victory table is always better than number one. LOL!
To comfort the loser's broken heart, let's look forward to closing ceremony, after celebrating China's Golden Harvest 2008, maybe with this stunning Hollywood movie:

You are missing the point eastman, the stupid fen qing reporter asked a stupid question about a non-relevant topic. That was a slap in the face to the Olympic player busting his ass representing your junkyard of a country.
Yao will eventually retire from the NBA and enjoy a comfortable life in the US.

You must be a redneck from cold war time when you expected everyone from "commie" countries would seek "political Asylum" in "free world".
Dream on, count how many CHinese did that, except some peasants you hate to welcome. You are too dense to know that time is long over.
When CNN once interviewed Yao Ming if he considered staying in USA after NBA, he simply replied: "my home is China which I will serve the rest of my life.".
I think its high time for you to worry a bit of your "comfort life" in Shanghai, without visa, lol!
Eastman,
You shouldn't be that extreme, spending time on this forum only to destroy usa...
You speak perfect English, use it to teach better than war and fights. It's not because there is worst outside China that you should do the same also.
After reading many post from you, if feel this forum becoming more a USA-China War.. Is it useful?
Let's enjoy these differences.

Sure, and China refused to let his parents move to the US with him for several years. Now he has them and his wife and his big house, along with clean air, water and food and NO HUKOU!
Can't wait to see his son as a power forward at UNC.

That is his point nnikba, and the point of all trolls. I sometimes wonder whether or not it has an effect. Most people would probably read his content and just shrug it off as it sounds like lunacy half the time. If it bothers you, just ignore him.

I agree, since thats the very reason I am staying here, for fun, because I knwo we will always differ and I have never had slightest hope to change nobody here.
The world will be a much nicer place if people want to learn instead of to lecture. Fortunately Chinese is not the one who did latter, which is why I choose to respect them.
To nanheyangrouchuan,
I only hope you would not kill Yao Ming's dad and rape his wife, both of whom are CCP members.
Do I remember it in a right way you want to kill or rape all the "commies bandits", like every midwest redneck would do?
So asking a Chinese athlete what he thinks of the unfortunate injury of another Chinese athlete, injury which apparently is a national tragedy anyway, is a dumb irrelevant question?
I don't get it. It's not like they asked him about Georgia.
Of course it's a dumb question. What, every single athlete is supposed to have an opinion on every other athlete, despite them being in completely different sports?
And also, that was Li Nan that got mad at the reporter, not Yao Ming. All Yao Ming did was express frustration for not playing more.
You almost managed not to troll there, Nanhe.
Yao was disappointed; Li Nan was frustrated; the reporter was an idiot. The end.
^ Yeah, these guys are really frustrated. It started with that game against the U.S. which everyone thought China's chances were good. Adding to that disappointment is the injury of losing to Greece. Then top it off with an insulting reporter's stupid question. We in the States all know that China is better than these results and that any team can suffer a bad patch. I can't wait for the NBA to finally go global and for China to have some great teams.
