Green Scene: Asia’s Helpful CSR Websites

CSR_Shanghai_Community_Sustainability_09-11-08.jpgHere are few handy websites to help you navigate the world of Corporate Social Responsibility in Asia…

CSR Asia: This sleek looking website will keep you up-to-date on the latest CRS happenings across Asia. They offer a weekly newsletter, quarterly magazine, and customized consulting and training services. In addition, it’s an excellent resource to find out about the latest conferences and events in the region.

Crossroads: Updated regularly by the well-known Rich Brubaker of Hands On Shanghai, the site gives a great overview of important CSR developments in China through written commentaries and interesting video interviews. They also host community-based monthly events. Rich has a new site related to creating a cleaner China here, too.

Responsible China: A sustainability blog that publishes original articles and podcasts related to social entrepreneurships and CSR. It’s casual tone makes for easy and fun reading when you tire of slogging through the copious news releases. Additionally, it has a sporadically updated CSR job website.

CSR China: This site tracks daily developments in the CSR arena. Although a bit messy looking, it’s packed with info culled from various news sites, press releases, and other sources. They have also recently kicked-off the Ethical Profit Case Business Unit which features successful green case studies.

CSR Mapping: One of our favorite sites! This one provides an online directory of CSR organizations and practitioners in Asia. You can even search by type of company or specialization for professionals. It’s a great place for CSR novices to begin their research and get acquainted with the movers and shakers in the industry. It’s created in part by SynTao, a CSR news aggregator and consulting company.

I would have also added the NextStep Directory with its comprehensive directory of close to 20 Green CSR Companies on http://www.nextstepdirectory.com/green-csr that was launched for the Green Business Forum on July 12th.

More informations about it here http://www.nextstepdirectory.com/press-room

Greg.

The post was covering CSR sites whose core focus is CSR, and you are clearly not there in content or mindset.

Calling your 20 sites "comprehensive directory" of CSR site is a joke or is a sad reflection ofr how little you think is going on in CSR in China.

Perhaps you should watch the Greenwashing video that Crossroads has posted on their site and take notes.

CSR Map is excellent, and I would second that with another resource that is very strong on identifying local programs in China.

http://www.greenmap.org/

Not China specific, its uniqueness is members of the community put together their own pages, and for China there are a lot of excellent programs being profiled.

I wouldn't call it a "comprehensive" directory, but with 100-150 or so NGO programs profiled, it surely is one of the best resources around for seeing on a map what is happening in China on the non-profit side of the CSR equation

You are right, this is really good.
At least, we are trying to contribute at our level.
Thank you
