The environmental legacy of the Olympics?

France 24 asks if the Beijing Olympics will have any longlasting environmental legacy. The answer may have come earlier than expected: the smog has come back to envelop Beijing almost as soon as the restrictions on drivers and factories were lifted.

“Beijing smog returns after Olympics” is not only distorting but misleading or even rumour mongering.

I’ve been in Beijing from 17th. Since the restriction came to an end on 20th, a blue sky everyday.

If anybody want to nag on Beijing’s smog, he’d be smart enough to choose the season, since any seasons could be the worst but not Autumn in Sept. and October. All expats in Beijing are witnessing the marvelous 70KM visibility today, while mountains in north Badaling can even been seen. Of course our reporter friend Richard Spencer will sure pretend to be blind or an idiot since he is trying hard to swindle another handsome 100 yuan bill as hardship allowance, from his boss in London.

Dmn, I thought the Bashing Game were already over and Telegragh got a bronze.

Yep - the air here can be pretty bad but as Eastman says, it is pretty clear and fresh at the moment. Not much basis for this story as far as i can see and the picture they use is surely an older one...

yes, yes, the sky is blue and the grass is green.
