Know what? Forget the angry Chinese youth. It's the angry Chinese guys playing racquet sports that scare us.
First it was badminton bad boy Dan Lin threatening to bludgeon a South Korean coach with his racket a couple years ago (and then later punching his own coach). Now it's the prima donna of ping pong, Wang Hao, getting in trouble. Stumbling around drunk outside a KTV bar, he was attempting to relieve himself when he was caught by security. An argument led to Wang declaring "I am the famous Wang Hao! I am the world champion! Does it matter if I beat you?" Which, perhaps unsurprisingly, then led to a bit of a kerfuffle between the two.
All in all, not a great moment for the Olympic gold medalist. He's since been reprimanded by his table tennis team, Bayi, and been sent in for counseling by the national team.
On the upside, incidents like this lead to headlines like "China's Wang to get Help After Karaoke Bar Brawl". And that's good for everyone.
