Live Music: Regurgitator, Voodoo Kungfu and Miniless

So this is the weekend in October we have been waiting for. A weekend where there are actually a slew of gigs worth checking out. On Friday Voodoo Kungfu from Beijing will be at Live Bar. We happened to catch them last year and despite not being a huge metal fan enjoyed the spectacle of watching the band dress up as Chinese ghosts, shamans and throw funeral money in the air, while using traditional Chinese instruments and throat singing in their repertoire. If all that might seem like a bit much for you then try Yuyintang where Miniless records is bringing us another night of experimental shoe gazer noise. Isis, CDGE, Tinnitus Movement and more will be on stage to induce waves of depression and melancholy to crash across the crowd.

Regurgitator, from Australia, is going to be a band you will probably want to catch. Playing at Logo on Saturday and Yuyintang on Sunday this might be your only chance to see a triple platinum act on such a small stage. We advise getting there early unless you want to be jammed against the door craning your head to get a peak at the sweaty chaos that their brand of 80s revival creates.

On Saturday there is a band called Seoul and Tokyo performing but we weren't able to get much information on what it will be, but the mystery might make it more exciting.

How could you not mention Boys Noize at Bonbon on Friday?!!

I rarely (never) mention djs...figure they get big enough crowds without a mention from me....but I did have a mental lapse when forgetting to mention that tonight at Live bar the band playing is 10, who are on their Nomad cd release tour ......and should be worth seeing before heading to Regurgitator at Logo
