He may not have won the Nobel Peace Prize that he was tipped to win, but Chinese dissident Hu Jia has just been awarded the Sakharov Prize, the top human rights award given out by the European Parliament. China had lobbied hard for Hu Jia to be passed over for the award, as it did during the Nobel selection, with Song Zhe, the Chinese ambassador to the EU delivering a stern warning that this "would inevitably hurt the Chinese people once again and bring serious damage to China-EU relations". For all the work he's done, Hu Jia remains relatively unknown in China today, although he is a favourite posterboy for Chinese dissidents among EU lawmakers because he once addressed the European Parliament via webcam while he was under house arrest. Next week's EU-China summit in Beijing will be a fun one to watch.

hu jia as future chinese president? no way, since he belongs to america.
being a neocon in heart, hu jia absolutely deserve the prize. when writing to american’s dear leader bush, he addressed him as a savior of mankind and asked him to cut trade relation with china totally ignorant of swifty yank’s need of cheap pants. when he wrote to merkel, he stated her meeting with dalai was supported by ALL chinese population. i suddenly realized he should not occupy a cell in chinese prison but deserve the luxury of guantanamo, if not abu ghraib.
i often wonder why people out of communist countries tend to become a neocon or even neo nazi in west. look at vaclav havel who supported iraq war 100% and east germans who embraced arschloch kohl when casting vote the first time in life. maybe china should swap hu jia with usa for 16 uigur ‘freedom fighters’ (is it right term?). let him go usa, in texas to be exact, to live among salivar dropping redneck pals, after voting for mccalin pair to whom he can shift his love from his beloved bush.
Hu Jia will help the US permanently deconstruct China and burn it to the ground! Fuck China!

Communists don't tend to become Nazis in the West, nor do they become neocon, nor do Neoconservatism or Nazism have anything to do with one another. And If you're calling Hujia a neocon, you obviously have no clue what the word "neocon" means.
What the hell does AIDS activism and environmentalism have to do with free market economics, limited welfare and harping for a stronger military presence abroad?
