This CCTV recording from a Shenzhen restaurant on Oct 29, carefully captioned by the wonderful guys from ChinaSmack, shows an 11 year old girl guiding a man to the restroom, and running away back into the restaurant soon after. She returns with her parents and brother to confront the man with the help of the restaurant, and a huge argument soon ensued. According to the girl, the man had grabbed her neck and tried to force her into the bathroom with him.
To everyone’s surprise, the man not only admitted what he did, he also allegedly said:
“I did it, so what? How much money do you want, give me a price. I will pay it!”
“Do you know who I am? I was sent here by the Beijing Ministry of Transportation, my level is the same as your mayor. So what if I pinched a little child’s neck? Who the fuck are you people to me?! You dare fuck with me? Just watch how I am going to deal with you.”
After this video was posted on the internet, Chinese netizens started about their “human flesh search engine” and soon identified him as Lin Jiaxiang, a party secretary of Shenzhen Maritime Administration, and published all his personal details. Within a few days, photoshop caricatures lampooning Lin have also started appearing on the web.
The Shanghai Daily says that the Shandong native came to Shanghai for a business meeting after he was released on bail but has since been summoned for an inquiry. A spokesperson from the Shenzhen Maritime Bureau was quoted as saying Lin has been suspended from work and would be ‘severely punished’. Shenzhen police have said that there was no clear evidence of (an intent of) sexual molestation as the video did not show Lin dragging the girl into the restroom with him, but assured the public that this case would be handled impartially.
