Hello Canada Street Festival

Canadian%20flag.jpgIf you are twiddling your thumbs this weekend and bored out of your maple tree, head down to Yandang Lu for the Hello Allo Canada street festival and mingle with the three lively mascots: the beaver (ummm, you have got to be kidding!!!), the moose and the goose.

Hello Allo Canada will offer 20 exhibition booths, 2 performance stages and a few food outlets. The event aims to showcase Canadian culture, products and services and to provide a platform for cultural exchange between Canadians and Shanghai residents. The event will also feature information about education, immigration and tourism in Canada.

And for entertainment, what could be better than: Canadian musicians, hip hop dancers, films, and a “Canadian Idol in Shanghai” singing competition? We couldn't think of anything either.

"Six moose sculptures painted by Canadians will decorate the street with artistic perspectives."
Awesome!

For a daily time schedule of events, go here.

Date: November 7 to 9 (Friday to Sunday)
Time: 10:00am till after dark
Where: Yandang Lu, Luwan District, Shanghai

Sweet. Wonder if they'll have Moosehead or Sleemans on tap.

Will the MacKenzie brothers be there?

Arent "The Beavers" the Canadian Womens Ice Hockey Team...oh i am so confused.

Canadian culture? What is this that you speak of?

Maybe they could highlight Canadian Cuisine.....Tom Horton's

There used to be a Canadian singer/songwriter (how novel) in Shanghai who used to go around calling himself 'Wise Man.'

Please tell me he's playing. Actually, better still, please tell me he's dead.
