Finally the M8 China iClone due for release next week

1481702_148592.jpgFinally after much hype and news, the Meizu M8 is due for release on December 8th. The guys from PC Online have had the chance to test it against the iPod Touch (because iPhones are not legally available in China yet).

Apparently it fares well as a music player and for those who don't want to buy an unlocked iPhone smuggled in from the US in the basement of Metro City, one of these beauties will only set you back RMB2,380 for the 8G model and RMB2,980 for the 16G model compared to the RMB4K you'd have to shell out for the 8G Jesus phone.

If, however, you still do not have faith in Chinese reverse ingenuity, for a mere HKD5,400 can get you an unlocked iPhone directly from Apple if you have an address to send to in Hong Kong.

They smuggled in a whole basement!

Yup they probably smuggled it in from the Guangdong factories, just like the other places in Asia where customers don't want to be locked in with an operator they didn't like.
