<description>&lt;p&gt;Imports of raw materials from Russia went through the roof in the first half 2008, not because of love and affection, but because of availability and somewhat lower prices as well as a 50% import duty advantage for goods imported by rail from Russia to China.

The duty advantage for Russian goods imported by rail has been canceled by China this autumn, after Russia banned timber exports to China.

The price development of crude oil (more than doubling) is part of these success-statistics.

If you torture data long enough, they will confess to anything.
