she said in perfect English

Downplaying her own foreign upbringing

http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/china/2008-12/30/content_7351445.htm

She was born and raised in Japan, where she was when the May 12 quake struck.
[snip]
Li, whose mother is a native of Chengdu and working as a university professor in Japan, had studied in an international school in Osaka before she returned to Chengdu in September.

http://bbs.clzg.cn/redirect.php?tid=82982&goto=lastpost

Pu Wei, Li's teacher, said Li Zizi was born in Japan of Chinese parents. Her mother, born in Chengdu, is now a teacher of educational psychology in a Japanese college.
[snip]
At present, Li Zizi is living with her grandmother in Chengdu. According to her mother, Li learned Japanese in school, but at home they used Chengdu dialect.

So she speaks (American) English, Chengdu dialect, and probably Japanese? The whole interview was in Mandarin-accented dialect...

Ah, the return of the return of Lei Feng Spirit Revival Part 12, now even internationally recognized!

She needed no communist hate propaganda in her education to turn Lei Feng and much to everybody's surprise we learn that Japan does not only turn out monstrous war mongers. This controversy adds credibility to this well-coordinated propaganda stunt.

There are thousands and thousands of these earthquake relief workers and contributors, most of whom will remain anonymous because they may not be up to Olympic Hostess standards and do not speak English.

Anyway, genuine or not, she will have a great future.

Watch out for that Dakota country girl attending the next Chinese presidents inauguration....
